This was my first 10k in the last 12 years. We didn’t expect it to be this rainy. The run itself was cool, but the weather made it a proper challenge before we even started.

Trafalgar Square before the run - grey skies and wet streets

There were so many nice people supporting along the route. Especially this guy giving out high fives with a giant foam finger at the start, absolute legend.

Because it was so abnormally wet and rainy this year, we were soaking before and during the run. After standing 40 minutes in the D queue for bag pickup, shivering and wet, it felt awful. All the other queues were nearly empty, but we weren’t allowed to switch to another one.

In the end we grabbed our bags and ran to Piccadilly station where we quickly changed into drier (though still wet) clothes in the Tube foyer.
